Project 2 - Part 1

1/160 sec. f/22 ISO 640
I've updated my first shot to reflect a close up image with in focus distant objects.  For this photo, I used auto-area AF.

  1. Jeff, I enjoyed both of these photos. I think cemeteries are such beautiful places with the different art of each headstone and so much green. The first photo doesn't have a close up object to give it the different depths. I really like the second photo. How the flag, the headstone, and the tree all create a line. I like the detail on the headstone to the left; however, I would walk in closer to it for these photos. Use that as your close up object. Great photos! - Erin

  3. Jeff, your caption under the first image worries me. I'm not sure if you're using the right terms or actually messing with the AF on your camera. To clarify: keep your camera always on auto focus - that's the switch on the side of the lens.
What you should be adjusting, based on your intentions, is the focus points or areas. (as in spot focus, center weighted, evaluative, etc.) You should be able to toggle through the options on the surface of your camera.
There's a lecture on this if you need more info.
